Dear forum members,
My dad made it. Apparently he suffered a mild stroke and this is what caused the problem. The CAT scan showed he had a brain tumor but I would learn from his doctor that this was discovered in 2000 when he underwent tests that determined he had Alzheimers. The tumor is small and has not changed in three years. Today we took him home from the hospital and he is once again in the loving care of our mother. Again, Russ and I are extremely touched by the thoughts and prayers of the forum. I mentioned all the words of support to my mother and she asked me to extend her thanks and best wishes to all. It was a difficult time and I truly did expect to lose my father over this. I'm sure your prayers were heard.
It is not necessary to respond to this thread, you all have been wonderful. I just wanted to give an update. Im going to sleep and relax for a day or so and then I'll be back here with all of my forum family. Once again, many many thanks. Russ and I were deeply touched by your concern.
Your friend,
Ralph

Ralph I hope everything keeps going fine. Strokes are so scary. My mom had one after heart surgery 3 years ago(she was only 67) that has left her paralyzed on left side but thank God she has her mind, and we have her.Its important for your Dadto keep a positive attitude.Best of luck!

Thanks everyone for all the kind words of support. My dad is doing much better. As I've mentioned he does have Alzhiemers but for the most part, because of his great attitude, that can be dealt with. The effects of the small stroke he had are minimal and he is going for little walks with my mother now. The wonderful medical personell who took care of him marvel at his strength. He will be 89 next month.
