Is the incredible writer, arranger, producer, Hank Cosby still around? What is he doing these days? This guy touched some of the greatest songs to come out of Motown!!!

Hank passed away a year ago this past January. I was in tears when I first heard the news. It was announced on this site very swiftly and you might like to do a search to find out more. It was very sad time for me personally cos Hank has always been my idol and it upset me terribly that I never got the chance to thank him for all the enjoyment he has given me. Many of the SD guys here made heartfelt tributes to him. Our Clay gave a wonderful insight to how dedicated Hank was to the music and Cal Street of the Velvelettes said to me "John, Hank was a real nice guy, you would have liked him a lot"
RIP Hank. You are still my number one.

That thread is worth finding.

I will look for the thread. It is a shame that this country does not know more about these kind of heroes. When it comes right down to it my heroes are the ones who guided me through the tough times as well as the good times. In my life, they have almost always ended up being musicians, arrangers, writers, and producers, and singers, for there has always been a song that was an extension of how my soul was doing at a particular time. Music has always been my muse and frankly I would be dead now if it didn't exist. Rather then concentrating on American Idol, Joe Millionaire, and Who's Hot, we should be giving props to a man like Hank Cosby. A man from behind the scenes who brought more joy than 90% of the people that pollute American's programmed consciousness.

Hank,
May your spirit rise to meet the occasion. It is us down here, who will suffer the most because you have gone away. Hank Cosby : a great guy, a great musician and producer, a great friend. I'll miss that smile, your cool hats, playing cards and just making music.
Easy my man,
Deke
