Congratulations to Mary Wilson and the Supremes,Mary being the Supreme who attended the R and B Hall of Fame awards and received the Pioneer award. Florence's kids accepted for Flo and Rhonda Ross for Diana. Mary tore the house down with You Keep Me Hangin' On, looked stunning and wowed the crowd at Valerie and Nick's club after where she sang Where Did Our Love Go(which she rarely sings). Thanks Mary for your continued affirmation of the music.

Diana Ross not only attended the Grammys but was spotted by the New York Daily News at one record label after-show party. This is from today's NY Daily News:

Diana Ross didn't look as though she's slowing down, despite a stint in rehab and recent DUI bust.

"It's nice to be out," she told us the EMI party. "I haven't been out for a year." Nursing a clear drink with lime, she added, "I'm gonna party!"

Around 2 a.m. she showed up for the Warner Music party at the Hudson Hotel, where she hit the dance floor and mingled with Faith Hill, Kid Rock, Cyndi Lauper and Missy Elliott.

Go figure..

From what I've read, Diana did not attend the Grammys. She watched the ceremonies from her NYC apartment. If she had attended, I'm sure the camera would have showed her a few times.

As far as her not attending the R&B Pioneer Awards ceremony, maybe she just wasn't up to it on that day. We all know that she is going through a bad patch at the moment. At least, she sent her daughter Rhonda in her absence. I don't believe she did this at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremonies or at the Supremes Walk Of Fame Induction. Also, her presence at the event might have overshadowed the other honorees, especially since she had not been seen since her DUI.

Also, I think her being at the Grammy after-parties had more to do with schmoozing than socializing. She has been spending quite a bit of time in the past few months with Clive Davis. It would be nice to think that they are working on a project together, but only time will tell.

Well... as on other forums the pro-Diana, anti Diana thing is beginning to rear its head. I personally believe she should have showed up at the Rhythm and Blues Foundation because of what that organization means to so many people. However, I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt. No one really knows why she did not show up. But I do believe that having Rhonda show up to accept should not be underestimated. I believe that there is a change in the wind. The one thing Queen Bee knows how to do is to work the publicity angle and correct perception of past errors. I would not be surprised at all that if in the next few months you see Mary Wilson and Diana Ross in a photo together smiling as thought nothing has gone down. Diana showed up at a corporate gig that Mary did last year and by all accounts they were quite cordial to each other and had a pleasant conversation. Do not be surprised by anything this diva comes up with in the next few months.

Reese:

The word is that Diana will be working with Clive on the new "retro" type label he is working on. They have been together on several occasions and I saw them at Rao's in early November heavily in conversation.

cleoharvey:I hope u r right, but if she is so saavy would she not be aware of how it looked to skip Pioneer award honoring Supremes and go to Grammy party where alcohol was present? She does not need any more bad pr tho of course she should do what she wants.

Vandelron:

You are right about it not looking good to be around liquor. If she has a severe problem with alcohol it has not been cured in a month (believe me I know). The media has fallen into the trap of believing that you can go to Betty Ford or some other clinic and then be cured in 6 weeks. Anyone who has had a dependency problem knows that it is a lifelong thing that you deal with. You take it day by day and pray. However, according to reports Diana was not drinking and appeared to be drinking seltzer with lime.

Diana is an Aries (as I am, on the same day) and there is a lonely side and there is a party til you drop side. Personal success means finding a balance between the two.

By showing up at the R&B Hall Of Fame she would not have overshadowed anyone.Aretha Franklin was there,Martha Reeves was there, and many others .I just wished she had went to ceremony and we could see the original Supremes together Minus Flo .Shawn

I agree, I think all Supremes fans wished that had occured. I think you may have missed the point of my post but I will let your post be the last word (going back and forth has destroyed other forums I have been on). The world would like to see these ladies come together!
