Hey Gang:
I'll be conducting an interview (via telephone) with Ike Turner about some recent vinyl reissues of his work from the late 1960s to early 1970s. I need to find out information regarding a few labels he owned during the 1960s. The labels in question are INNIS,PRANN,SONY (no relation!), SONJA and TEENA. He ran these labels while still living in St. Louis.
If anyone can share with me artist information or have a few 45s they could scan in I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you all for your cooperation.
Regards,

KevGo, I got "If I Can't Be First" on Sonja, but I think it's in the attic and I never go up there until Spring. If it's not I'll scan it for you.

Check the archives - about 2 years ago I did a
listing of all those Ike Turner labels

Kevgo, I remember the Sonja label having an L.A. address on it, something like Placid Drive or something so it might not be one of Turner's St. Louis labels that you're looking for.

Scratcher:
Ike Turner moved to the west coast (Los Angeles) around 1964 so your record could be one of his productions.

Davie:
Is it possible that you may have some of those recordings from Ike's labels? A reissue label I work for is trying to piece together an Ike Turner collection based on the companies he owned. If you do, I would love to hear what they sound like (if you could transfer them onto CD-R). Please advise.

Kev,
Sorry can't help you out there - I don't have any
of those releases. The listings I did were from
information I'd gathered over the years from sales lists etc. The very few I have heard sound
just what you'd expect - Sue period Ike & Tina
tracks with different lead singers.
