Boomer may be one of the best drummers alive. Damn he can groove. Spectrum is a great album with Tommy Bolin doing some funky shit on the guitar. He is also fast. Very fast. The thing I like about Billy is that he can play with any artist and not "miss out" on the sound. He played an early version of speed-metal in the Mahavishnu Orchestra, which was the best fusion groups I have ever heard. He has played with so many great artists. He played on George Benson's White Rabbit.

I use to be on his internet drum-forum. he would take the time to answer just about everyone's questions about drumming and music in general.

Back in the mid to late seventies , I had a wonderful music attorney.
At the time he also represented Billy Cobham and asked if there were a place for B.C. on some of our sessions.
Billy was and is a great Jazz player aand it would be an insult to him to have to lay on the two and the four all of the time.
We stuck with Earl!!

My drumming instructor was taught by a Billy Cobham student. Maybe so will rub off on me!
