Can any of our philly friends tell me anything about Damon Fox who recorded one of my all time favourite rare soul dancers on the Fairmount record label(no.1021).
This mega rare pearler is called 'Packing up/Bonie Moronie' and man does it moooooove!!!!!
This is a sound in the Jimmy Macks,Jimmy Raye's,Jimmy Gresham's mould(andthensome).
Hold on to the beat or you will end up out in the street, what all-nighters are made of.Pure 100 mph dancer of the highest order.
Last seen a copy priced at the 1800 mark, and yes, worth every penny.
Can anyone tell me anything about the artist please.
Many thanks.
mel.
ps
I Know he recorded for Crimson records.

One of my fave Northern records from the moment I heard it, Mel. I too wish I had a copy or more info on the guy.
Best,
Mark

A real mystery - there's a second single (on
Crimson) called "Black Widow Spider" which I've
yet to hear. It got a rave review in "Shout"
which compared it it, vocally, to Screamin' Jay
Hawkins - an early Thom Bell arrangement.
