Deborah,

I have it in front of me right now... so it must be for real... Not the US copy but an European copy on Capitol. It was released in the USA on RCA. "So Close" is not on this album. It was released on "Silk Electric" from 1982.

Yes, RCA AFL1-4677 is "Ross" (1983). It includes "That's How You Start Over", "Love Will Make It Right", "You Do It", "Pieces of Ice" and "Let's Go Up", produced by Gary Katz; "Love Or Loneliness" and "Up Front", produced by Ray Parker, Jr., and "Girls", produced by Diana Ross.

Deborah,

The Ross album from 1983 on RCA you are looking for was only issued on CD in Japan, so it's a hard find. Vinyl appears on Ebay and used at Amazon from time to time. Beware that there is another album called Ross from 1978 on Motown.

Ms. Ross pleaded not guilty on her DUI charge, She had a BAC, of 2.2 almost 3 time over the limit. If anyone saw the police video she was drunk on the butt! I hope they throw the book at her.

On the subject of acronyms, there was a British trade union who were very careful about how theirs was pronounced. The "Engineers, Electricians, Technicians and Plumbers Union" were anxious that their abbreviated name be spelled out - E-E-T-P-U, rather than seen as a word, which would sound exactly like: "Eat poo"

Debroah,
The '83 Ross album is one of my favorite Ross albums of all time. A great album (especially the A side, Up Front and Love Or Loneliness). Too bad RCA did not promote it like it should have been promoted!

'Is it love or is it loneliness?'
