Does anyone know the track listings of these two new releases? I'd like to know if there are any previously unreleased tracks, alternate takes or different/extended mixes. I'd prefer not to purchase blind in case its all stuff I already have!

Thanx in advance!

Drew

Harry put this stuff up in detail over at the Motown board. He is great about putting the most up to date information there as soon as it becomes "solid".

Thanx for that Ken,

The Kim CD will be worth it even if its just for the extended Helpless (I assume its got the missing verse reinstated?)

I'm also looking forward to the Barbara McNair release.

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased Kim's millenium collection & all I can say is WOW! What a voice! It's a shame she wasn't given the proper promotion. "A Thrill A Moment" would've certainly propelled her into superstardom!

Peace!

I love that song too, Common.

Also "Helpless" and "I'm still loving you".

"Do like I do" is pretty cool too!

BTW my cd is "greatest hits and rare classics"

Hello David,

Yes, Kim all the way! I've always loved her voice but was really taken aback by sheer power of her voice. "Helpless" with the added verse, is a treat indeed! I was surprised that "Stop! In The Name Of Love" wasn't included, which was from the Motown ultimate rarities CD. I think it would've fit in perfectly with the song selections. BTW, is that CD you speak of a Motown compliation?

Peace!

PS Props to Harry Weinger for interview with Kim. I only wish it wasn't so short!

"Greatest Hits and Rare Classics" was a line of Motown CD releases from the early 90s. They did them on Kim Weston, The Isley Brothers, Jermaine Jackson, Brenda Holloway, and Rare Earth. There may have been others, but that's what I remember.

Ken

When Kim was in Detroit, she worked with the young people, teaching them songs, and appearing and performing at various places. She was truly dedicated.

I ordered my copies of both of these yesterday even though I have all the songs on vinyl & or CD.The sound on the Millinium Series is GREAT.I don't understand why "I'll Be Available" is not on the Brenda Holloway when the flip "Operator" is.Ofcourse both songs were Mary Wells originals. One thing I Have always loved about Brenda Holloway is her admiration & respect of Mary Wells.

I used to attend those performances by Kim's Kids. I should have had a video camcorder, or at least a 35mm. All I did was to enjoy the performances. Boy or boy.

As brilliant and as welcome as the music is, I 'd like to add how beautiful the pictures are of both Kim and Brenda. Certainly colour photos that I have never seen before. It makes me wonder just how many more of these are in Motown's vault - I'm hoping that there are thousands and that one day we sill see them all! (lol).
Best wishes,
David.

Hello everyone,

David: Thanks for the info!

Motown David: I agree with you about the pics! Kim is very voluptuous(sp?) & pretty! My favorite is the one on the back of the CD. I love that outfit!

Peace!
