Can anyone confirm to me a thing that has been
bugging me now for quite some time.
As I have records by Tommy Neal and also by The Four Pro's,
I was told that the lead singer of the Four Pro's was none other than Tommy Neal.
So can anyone tell me if tommy is on lead on Just another girl, which does sound like it is him,but on the flip is a number called There must be a reason which isnt as clear to me as who is on lead.
Ifd anyone does know I would very much appreciate it,and if someone does,
do they know the names of all the Pro's on Carla Records.
Cheers,
Mel(andthensome).

Mel, I believe Tommy was one of The Majestics - during the early 60s.
I don't know about The 4 Pros though: Didn't they record for Ollie on his Karen or Carla label..I can't remember which one off hand.
Who are named as songwriters on the label?
Graham

Graham,
the song writers on Just another girl were
Lawrence and Thomas.
And on the other side the writers for
There must be a Reason were
Butler-Greene and Griffith.
Carla Records no.2531.
I am leaving the site graham,so this will be my last posting for a while, though I will be looking in from time to time.
Cheers,
Mel.

Mel, i have the two Carla recordings by the Four Pros, the lead singer of the two 45s is one Derrick Draw who does sound a lot like Tommy Neal aka Tommy Mealy who you can ear singing with the Majestics on their Chex outings from around 1961 to 63. GrahamD.

Graham D
Do you know who the other guys in The 4 Pros were - and if they ever recorded for any other Detroit companies?
TIA, Graham F

To my knowledge (which was lately testified by some other collectors) Tommy Neal was Thomas Mealy of Chex Records fame and recorded as such with the Majestics.

Have either of you heard
Everybodys got some soul by The four pro's also on Carla records.
And if so,what are your thoughts regards the similar sounding once more to Tommy Neal.
GRAHAM d,do you have the single on Carla like myself of Justanother girl/There must be a reason or do you have the american LP Which names There must be a reason differently.
WITH THANKS,
mel.

Thanks Graham,
the more I play going to a happening by
Tommy Neal,
then give the 4 pros a spin,
Just another girl,
The more I think it is Tommy Neal on lead.
Graham D,
Did Derek Draw do anything under his own name, and if so,do you know the titles and Labels by any chance?
With thanks to you both,
MEL.

Hi Mel,
The other record that I refered to earlier is...
Carla #2538
Four Bros (Pros) - Let It All Reach Out /Cool Jerk

This is how I've got the info' listed, but I doin't think I've ever seen the actual 45, so it may not be 100% accurate. Can anyone confirm if this is another Four Pros' disc and who was in the group?
Graham.

Graham F
alright mate,
are you talking Cool Jerk as in
The CAPITOLS?
it could be on one of the Solid Smoke albums that was issued in the states(2 I think were available)with various tracks on them including the Just another girl etc.
I Havent actually seen the albums,so this track may be on one?
Cheers,
Mel.

I can only confirm that I saw this special 45 listed this week. Four Brothers "Let It All reach Ou" Carla Records. As I have those two Solid Smoke albums I can also say that this 45 is not included. Therefore btw it has the Firestones "Buy Now Pay Later" on it, which I again never saw as an original 45. The liner notes declare it was released.
