Anybody heard/ have a copy of the live 'nightclub' version of "The Flick" (not the studio version on 'Earl of Funk') used in SITSOM film? I believe it was playing when the fellas were running through the clubs they used to play in Detroit. There's also a 15 second clip of the same version of "Flick" that introduces the audio component of Allen Slutsky's Jamerson book of a few years past. Anybody have any more info on this live Funk Bros. material??

All I can add is it's not from the Motortown Revue in Paris lp, the only Funk Bros instrumental on there is 'Too Many Fish In The Sea', I just pulled it out looking for something with (& Crediting) Johnny Griffin to play later...

get a copy of the Four Tops BREAKING THROUGH to get a better idea of Johnny Griffith (not Griffin) leading the Motown band playing jazz and backing some swingin' vocals.

There's a version of The Flick on the CD issued in Belgium by Marginal Records that has the old That Motown Sound tracks paired with Choker Campbell's Hits of the Sixties. There are some bonus tracks on this, as well as some stereo versions of tracks that are different from the original vinyl TMS album I bought in the sixties. Included is this version of The Flick that I thought came from The Earl of Funk (which I don't have) but it is different from the one on the SITSOM soundtrack.

I actually have the the live version of the Flick by Earl Van Dyke (MP3 of course)-complete with clanking glasses, background talking and the sort.

I dont know where it came from-album wise, so unfortunately I cant help you out there.
