Am I hearing things? Has anybody got this CD? Great classics sung by your favourite Motown hit makers. I think my previous comment on another thread to Nish stands up. This is a great collection of tunes for a ridiculous price. The 'Barbara McNair/On a clear day' track has to be one of the greatest renditions I have ever heard in my life. Her voice is fantastic. How many more tracks in the archive like this Harry? Just listen to Mr. Gaye's version of the big band 'straighten up and fly right'. The brass arrangement is crisp and clear throughout the song and it rocks. Check it out!

It's a very good version Mel. Most of the CD blows me away. There are two Supremes tracks which are good too 'Wonderful Wonderful' and 'Blue Moon'. I think they are an aquired taste sort of thing, but I know these songs go back to my humble musical roots. My parents were born in the 1920's, so these melodies are familiar and I love them. Did you ever see that Robbie Williams concert from the Royal Albert Hall I think? The style is similar to that big band Frank Sinatra thing he did there. I think Mr Williams opened the door for some good standards and jazz to be acknowledged by those who otherwise would have never know about it. And here we are with some great Motown artists singing great standards. I do hope volume 2 comes out soon.
