Sis the Temptations track you heard was
"What in the world am I gonna do" on the Lost and Found series.

I previously knew of this track on the album "Chuck Jackson Arrives" written by Ivy Jo Hunter and Stevie Wonder

Thanks David, I will take a listen. Did you notice on the other thread regarding this radio broadcast I had stumbled across the archive section and played part of a previous programme which included Dance dance dance/The Casualeers? I had not realised how much of a great song this is and taken for granted. Mel kindly commented on a number of things too, about the song. The chord structure is superb and on Tuesday I spent an hour or so, working out how they did it. The lead singer shouts 'boogaloo with me baby' twice over an excellent orchestration. Just shows the power in these radio broadcasts, that can make people think and do things otherwise not planned. If anybody is interested in reading an article about the composer of this song please go to:
http://www.webvanda.com/80/interviews/rod_mcbrien/e_02.shtml

It is a Japanese web site, so hit the cancel button for the download! Scroll down to the photo and bits about The Casualeers! I want to book them for my 21st!!

I will let you know about the programme, I am looking forward to it.

David/Frank - I am impressed already. I have heard my name mentioned and 'Don't be sore at me'. Do I really have to go to work?

The Detroit Soul Special is apparently receiving more hits than any of the other archives. So thank you to everyone who has gone to www.radiomagnetic.com selected archives , R&B/soul then reflectiion and then 12/10/02. Of course the biggest thanks should go to David Meikle for his choice of music and the great stories that went with it.

FrankM - I listened to most of the show last night as I am working overnights at the moment. I also listened to part of the previous weeks show. I must admit, I had no idea how difficult it would be to understand your accents as you both chatted away with an internet bandwidth to process the sound! Without a doubt, listening to the banter and songs is very satisfying. Other radio stations have no idea the wealth of music available in this area and are truly missing out. To hear comments about musicians and engineers, rather than popular drival expected after a record has been played, was truly refreshing.

Carl, thanks for posting the link to the Rod McBrien interview. Nice stuff there about the Casualeers!

Best,

Mark

Mark - it's a great tune by The Casualeers and that link was a surprise when I found it a few weeks ago. It seems that the Japanese also have a fascination at all this great soul stuff and had instigated that interview with Rod.I wonder if he realises it is still played over here in the UK? It would be nice to let him know somehow.

For those interested in BBC Radio London, Peter Young airs with soul/jazz, including the 'soul cellar' from 0300/0600hrs GMT Sunday mornings. The Soul Cellar is the last hour and features classic soul from the sixties. As I am working overnights at the moment, I am checking it out! It is available as a stream on the internet for our continental and overseas visitors at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/insideldn/radio/peter_young.shtml

Ignore the timings on the web pages, they are out of date. The UK clocks went back one hour at 0200hrs today, for info only!
