I Would like to get a totally embarrassing thing of my chest if I may.A while ago I did a rave review on The Dramatics record,on Wingate called Inky Dinky Wang Dang Doo.(A personal Rare/Northern Soul Sound fave of mine).Anyway there was a reply from Sis of Detroit saying that the group would be pleased with what I wrote.Cutting it short,a reply came back signed R.Which for some reason I mistook as being Ron Banks from the Dramatics. Now after further looks at the archive piece its on,I seem to of Jumped the gun,Big time.As far as I can now see within the message from R.IT is not Mr.Banks.I apologise to the R.to which it refers to.And crimsonly and sheepishly want to get it from my chest.Thank you for not replying in fits of laughter to me.MEL(Dipstick of the year, and truly then some).A revolver please.

Mel - I wouldn't worry about it. I heaped praise on Bob Babbit on this very forum for his playing on Jackie Wilson's "Higher & Higher". I felt really sheepish when David politely pointed out that it was Jamerson. (No disrespect to Babbit - that WAS a little before he posted an awe-inspiring list of gems that he DID apply his magic touch to!)
We all make mistakes (as the hedgehog said, climbing off the hairbrush.)

Mel - Don't worry about it. I was wondering who "R" was myself. I knew it wasn't Ron Banks because I doubt if Banks knows how to turn on a computer. Then I thought Banks had someone post for him, but then "R's" postings weren't in the first person for Banks. However, "R" is very knowledgable in the works of the Dramatics.
No need to be embarrassed. I'm sure "R" understood the confusion.
(I'm going to try again, to encourage Banks to come over and I'll type for him.)

Now I'm laughing. That was funny. But I love to laugh. (LOL) I love being happy, and good soul music makes me happy. If you ever visit Ritchie's Soulsville, visit his Bookmarks, and check the Backstage Pass Photo Gallery, which has quite a few pictures of the Dramatics.

Mel...I thought at the time you had a connection to Ron Banks, and didn't realize that you thought I was he. My name is Robert, but I'm too lazy to type all 6 letters, so I just use "r". I would never laugh at you...I can tell you know your stuff! I'm the self titled "Biggest Dramatics Fan". (I just gave myself that title, but I'm ready to defend it anytime...).

Actually, to be the biggest fan and never having heard either one is a little embarrassing...my earliest collection starts with "Whatcha See...", but I do have the splinter groups "No Rebate", and "Must Be Love (Can You Feel It)"..."Must Be Love" is a WeeGee masterpiece! I really enjoyed WeeGee's voice...I'd put him right up there with David Ruffin and Marvin Jr. I wish they had never broken up, even though I love Lenny Mayes' voice...and LJ holds his own, but with LJ it's a different sound...WeeGee was so strong...

Dear Fans,
I love the Dramatics so much it isn't funny. It's been three years since I became a dyed-in-the-wool fan, and I currently have two Dramatics websites (http://thedramatics.arecool.net and http://www.geocities.com/dramaticsfanclub/index.html), I've seen them in concert and met all Dramatics except for Lenny Mayes (darn it!! I wanted to bad to meet him too!) and I have met many wonderful fans. I love meeting new fans! My favorite Dramatic is L.J. but I sincerely love the whole group. What's to dislike about the Drams? I tell you, for those who haven't met these guys, some of the nicest and most polite gentlemen in the world belong to that group. I'm not exaggerating, either.

Dramaljdiva...I feel you...I was able to catch them live in 1973 at Grambling University, and in 1974 at "The Total Experience" nightclub in Los Angeles. (I've seen them several other times, but the two I mentioned was when they were in their prime). You and I don't really agree when it comes to LJ, but I respect his contribution, and I admit that he's the one whose voice is the best right now...he didn't lose much (sort of like Eddie Holman - that guy still sounds fantastic). I might just be spoiled, because I didn't want Flo to leave the Supremes, I definitly didn't want David (or Paul) to leave the Tempts, and I didn't want WeeGee to leave the Dramatics. I sure wish there were more live albums out there, because the one I have has LJ singing "Thank You For Your Love", which is just not right...that song IS WeeGee...LJ's contributions in songs such as "Me and Mrs. Jones" and "Just Shopping" is outstanding and one of the reasons they survived the break-up...I'm excited about visiting the two sites you mentioned - thanks for that!

Lenny Mayes just said "You know it's really a pleasure to be put in the same category with the Classic Tempts because in my book they are really the greatest." Now they are playing "Don't Look Back" by Paul Wms. (I promise, I won't post anymore, I'm just geeked up.)

Big, big favor to ask if you can pull out the record again ("All Because Of You")--was this 45 distributed by Amy/Mala/Bell, and if so, could you please list the matrix numbers for both sides?
Thanks in advance!
