Has anyone got any updates on how George is doing. Last I heard he was to be going home yesterday.

Ralph,
Don't have an update myself, maybe Millie has talked to him.

But I wanted to post, before I forgot -- another player who had quadruple bypass recently is Uriel Jones, who had it last spring. He's doing great -- when I saw him at Pistol's funeral he said he only knows now how badly he was feeling before the operation.

Sue,
Seems like I heard that about Uriel. I'm sure George will be fine also. Bobby is doing very well. I guess we owe a big thanks to modern medical technology.

Hello everybody and thanks for all the good thoughts. I came home this afternoon and I will be taking 6-8 weeks for recovery. I can't post much more at this time because I still get tired quickly. Thanks for everything.

George,
Glad to see you're at home now. Take it slow pal and mend. Talk to us when you feel up to it.

Hi Ralph. I spoke with George yesterday. He is doing much better. We had a long conversation. I'm sure he'll be back playing before you know it.

Note Bob Babbitts real name and Ali Bashamis name (I spelled it Ollie by mistake} the same guys I mentioned in Nabays thread.
Just curious but would A. N. B.productions be Ali, Norman Sands, and Bob Babbitt??

Wasnt Harry Balk involved somewhere along the line or have I got my names mixed up somewhere?
If not with the Label then with Nabay in general?
With thanks

Hello Everyone,
I just got off the phone with George Katsakis, and he's feeling great! He'll be back at the Clawson Steak House on December 18th, so I think it would be a great idea if a few of us showed up to welcome him back!!! If not the 18th, how about Saturday, the 21st. Let's put something together. E-mail me.

THE KAT will be at the KONTINENTALS DOO-WOP DINNER DANCE and performing,as I talked to him last week when he called. This would be a good time for a "WELCOME HOME GEORGE" and see him in the spotlight, along with the rest.Tickets are getting scrace, but i'am keeping about 20 for at the door late comers.Gil and I met at Jamies Thurs.for Jamies birthday party and GIL said he was possibly going to be in CHILLI durring our gig,but if the $'s and contract aren't in his hands by the 12th. of DEC. he will be at the dance and will play. When GIL greats you with his hand shake and the frienship hug, there is something in that hug that tells you it's from the heart. If enough people from the CLAWSON come to the dance,I can put a table aside for them.Need to know by 11-30-02. Lynn and Mel&ThenSome,

A.N.B Productions stands for Ali, Nabay, Babbitt. As for Harry Balk, here's how the story goes... Ali, Nabay and Babbitt funded "Believe It or Not" and recorded it at a studio located on Livernois (don't know the name of the studio) then took it to Harry Balk who "flipped" over it and signed Nabay to the Impact label. Nabay cut a version of "LaBamba" that was sooo soulful (as legend has it) it was too hot for Harry to handle as he couldn't bring himself to put it on the B side and simply put an instrumental version of "Believe It or Not" on the B side instead.

Does anyone know if Harry is still alive?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Horse (68.61.77.137) on Sunday, November 24, 2002 - 10:49 pm:

Lynn,

...(clicked "send" too soon) forgot to mention in reference to A.N.B. Productions - Dennis Coffee arranged and played on "Believe It or Not". Oh - and Norman Sands was not involved with this one, "Believe It or Not" was recorded post Norman Sands. And, even though Nabay's not listed in the credits, the writers were Ali, Nabay, and Babbitt.

Horse,
Harry is alive and well, living in Los Angeles. I talk to him often.

Top of pageBottom of page   By David Meikle (213.122.148.36) on Monday, November 25, 2002 - 10:25 am:

"Believe it or not" was recorded in Tera Shirma studios on Livernois.

Ralph was the owner and his story and many pictures exist in The Tera Shirma Story.
