Mel according to the Soul Harmoney Book it states that the Primettes aka The Supremes are credited to have backed the three 45s as mentioned by Flynny! and i have an early Lupine Lp by the Primettes some where in my records and the cover info states their work as backing artists for the label! i will have a look see and post the results. Mel,

To save you time there's no mention of the Supremes on UK copies of the disc - or on US
ones that I know of.

It's so long since I heard it I can't remeber if it sounds like the girls or not. Diana Ross
usually stuck out like a sore thumb when she
did backup work

Cheers Davie,I was just getting my head around looking through a load of my English 45s.MEL.

Davie - If you value your life, just remember not to say that on the Motown board ;o)

Ritchie,

Perhaps I should have used a less "controversial"
phrase - Diana has many talents but hiding her
light under a bushel doing backups isn't one of them : - )

I'm just trying to imagine two egos like Wilson
and Diana in the same room :-)

Anyway, I shall exercise all due caution if
I need to mention the lady on the Motown board.
Her fans are, how can I put this - somewhat
defensive ?

IN MARYS BOOK SHE STATES THAT AS THE PRIMETTES THEY DID BACKUP FOR WILSON PICKETT AND EDDIE FLOYD AT LUPINE.

Just another Supremes Curiousity...for years and years I was after Don Revel & The Primettes "Return of Stagger Lee" on Lupine. I still do not know the release number, but take this 45 as one of the two /three missing numbers in any Lupine Discography (and my collection). I just happened to find in a list a record on UA by the Don Revels "ROSL"...and yes, it is the same record ! So the only question left now is, has this ever been published on Lupine ???
