I have been asked by several people to post a review of Laura's recent Swedish show. I must thank the promoters of the Monsteras Blues festival for hosting one of the most friendly events I have ever been to. Laura was pure dynamite and powered her way through an hour long show with her bandleader Bishop Sonny Woods and an excellent Swedish band. She enjoyed herself from beginning to end and left the crowd mesmerised and some people were crying because of her performance. Her set included full length versions with ad-libs and real rapping of her classic such as Dirty Man, More Love Than Pride, Hang It Up, Need To Belong, Crumbs Off The Table and Rip Off. She also did 4 gospel numbers including How I Love You and Amazing Grace. There will be a full review in next In The Basement and Juke Blues plus she gave a full interview to the Swedish magazine Jefferson. We hope to bring Laura back to Europe again in the near future. I will send photos in the very near future Best wishes Colin |
