Hello everyone, I attended the KBLX 7th Annual Stone Soul Picnic here in the Bay Area, today. It started at 12 and went on to 6:15pm. The Funk Family Affair kicked it off, I only recognized Cynthia & Jerry. Sly's niece sings in the group and is pretty good. Cameo was next and they COOKED!! Larry Blackmon with his red hat and red cod piece, Tomi Jenkins, Charlie Singleton and the rest of the band, they haven't aged at all.
The Isley Bros. f/Ron Isley aka Mr. Biggs, was Mr. Smooth, with the eye candy for the men in the form of 4 or 5 women dancing on stage, as was his background singers JS. I could listen to Ernie play all day!! Last, but certainly not least, Lady Tee, Teena Marie & Rick James!! They came out together Rick sat down at the keyboards and they went into the first song he wrote for her "I'm Just A Sucker For Your Love". They switched back and forth singing their own songs/playing & singing together. Teena Marie is the baddest white woman I have ever seen and heard!!! she threw down on vocals, guitar and congas!! Rick was pretty good, except for his cursing! A good time was had by all- in reserved seats and all over the grass!!! Everyone was good, but the best were Cameo, Isleys & Teena Marie!!!!!

Sounded like a great show & a great time!! Did you get any photos you can post? We'd all love to see them, especially "Rick & Teena" performing together again.
