Hi Charlie ! You've made my day - great to hear from you. The Soul Survivors still have fans all over the world. I'm in Glasgow,Scotland and have been a fan since the days of "Expressway". The reunion album you did for TSOP in the seventies is one of my favourite albums out of everything that came from the city in the seventies. Would you satisfy my curiosity about "Darkness" on the "Take Another Look" album you did for Atco - that IS Duane Allman on lead guitar isn't it ? Would you mind e-mailing me at davidlgordon2@yahoo.co.uk Thanks, y'know I've been trying to get to you for a long time, cause constantly you been on my mind ;) Davie |

Hello again, soulful friends! Hi, Kev-lo, Davie and Ralph, I'm excited waiting for the next posts by Charlie Ingui. Davie, I saw the sleeve of their TSOP album in the back-cover of my TSOP single copies. But never find it. If all the album have the same spirit of "What It Takes" or "Virgin Girl"... I need this album!! Also i'm wondering if have more than one Soul Survivor's album in the TSOP - PIR years, because I saw the reproduction of the PIR maxisingle "Happy Birthday America" in a web-site. Peace & Soul Food! |

Manny, there's only the one TSOP album - "Happy Birthday America" was a non-album single. Some copies came in a picture sleeve - maybe that's what you've seen and thought it was an album. The TSOP album is not easy to find - I found a copy in London around '76 and don't think I've seen one since. The album includes all the singles except for "Happy Birthday America" - it's an overlooked gem and I keep hoping that someday it'll appear on CD. My copy of the album disappeared ages ago and I've been looking for another for years. Davie |

Hi, Davie, Many thanks for your info. In fact when I says that never find a copie, this was unexact. Really, one time I find a "copie" in a second-hand store and happened something that have happened to me other times: the jacket was very destroyed and when I checked the vynil, the vynil was not the Soul Survivors vynil, was another. I searched it and says it to the boss of the store. He don't knows nothing "This is a second hand store, I buy all for the weight. The prices are ridiculous. What wants you???!!!" I don't buy a destroyed jacket by Soul Survivors (or another artist) with a vynil of Fausto Papetti in the interior, for a ridiculous price or not! I knows previously the front-cover illustration (the heart with the stairways) but this day I saw the back cover photo with the members playing guitar and one roulotte (or a truck, ?) in the country, very "hippie" and charismatic! Keep The Faith in the re-editions, friends! |

Charlie: I still play the TSOP album frequently. I bought it when it came out in '74 at Jerry's Records in Philly. Favorite cuts are: Soul To Soul Start Over Again Your Love Virgin Girl Best Time Was The Last Time I always dug your version of "Temptation's 'Bout To Get Me" also. Nice to hear you on the board.

Hi Charlie, Welcome aboard. I gotta say that at the time, I never heard anything like "Expressway". Those horns & crowd sounds were something else. A little 7 year-old fella like me felt real cool walking with my transistor radio listening to that one! You fellas sure brought the Soul there!! |
