On Tuesday night, I went to a small birthday party for the incredible Leslie Uggams at the restaurant Thalia. At the gathering was her husband Grahame Pratt, her daughter Danielle, Terry Burrell, and Marva Hicks and Chuck Cooper from "Caroline, Or Change." Leslie looks unbelieveable (I do not know what these Gemini divas do, but I need to find those face creams). Her show Thoroughly Modern Millie closes on June 20th (so if you haven't seen her, you need to get there), but Miss Uggams is already into other projects. She is presently doing a workshop of the life of Lena Horne and will continue with her successful concert career throughout the summer and fall. She is one of the nicest and sweetest people in the business and I am grateful to be considered her friend. |

Wow thats great--I saw the theater today with her pic out front and she looked sensational. Talk about a ground breaker and under appreciated... |
