I recently heard the X-RATED "Think Twice" by Jackie Wilson and Lavern Baker. Does anybody know any details about this song ? Considering the raunchy lyrics (for that time period)...there's NO WAY it would have made it to any commercial release, so HOW and WHERE did it get recorded ? |

So how did you hear that record if it was never commercially released? WB |

The x-rated version of "Think Twice" was recorded at the end of the same 1966 session that produced the "clean" version that was released as a single. According to Lavern, she and Jackie were exhausted and more than a little drinking had taken place. Bootleg tapes of the outtake have been circulating for years. I got a cassette of it, which sounds like it is a tenth-generation copy, in the early 70s, and I still have it. It is currently available on the Zu Zazz CD "If It Ain't A Hit, I'll Eat My ...Baby" The complete "lyrics" are transcribed here: http://www.creemmedia.com/Beat GoesOn/LucilleBogan/PervertsBa llSideTwo.html |
