One would think that with all the CRAP on TV and cable that it would be high time to present to the unaware masses this fine picture. Standing in the Shadows of Motown is appreciated by all I know who who have become exposed to it. Maybe they could actually make enough cash to cover their expenses and share a few bucks between the principals!?
Promotion is non-existent and its really sad.
Maybe this could be a catalyst whereby the Funks and Dr. Licks could patch up their legal differences and add their special musical influence to MANY more households in America and around the world. HBO, Cinemax, USA, etc... One would think that some form of promotion could get it done! It's high time while some of these folks are still living!
Say it loud!

It would be a great PBS vehicle......I am sure that the PBS stations would get lots of donations from such a broadcast and the copies of SITSOM that are "given away" with donations (but actually bought by PBS) translates into sales of not just the copies "given" with memberships, but with the general public..
However, with the current dispute between the Funks and Allan Slutsky, not much is gonna happen until that is resloved. |

funkcity, SITSOM was shown this past winter on either HBO or Showtime, don't remember which one. It just wasn't shown very many times like they do with so many other "shove down your throat" repeats.  |
