I have posted this before..soon after the new forum started. I'm hoping now, with more members, that someone can help me find the lady. I ,and many fans, would like to know her full story and I wish to do an interview with her, to be featured in the top Soul Magazine 'In The Basement'. My sources tell me she may be in the Atlanta area.. and also still performing. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

I know she was performing in Discos in Fla. in the 90's and she is from Jacksonville.Bobby Eli, a great writer & producer and forum regular knows Jackie Moore and has worked with her in the past, maybe he would know how to contact. She is a great talent and as a Floridian we were all proud of her talents and success. |

We at SoulfulDetroit.com congratulate you, Bobby Eli, for the 25th anniversary of a hit you produced and Jackie Moore made a disco classic, "This Time Baby" in 1979, and is still going strong on many soul stations worldwide, and on the Classic R&B/Classic Disco channels on Music Choice through satellite and cable in heavy rotation. Originally written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff and recorded by the O'Jays for their 1978 album "So Full Of Love", "This Time Baby" was swept up quickly by Jackie Moore for her 1979 Columbia album "I'm On My Way" with outstanding production/arrangements by "Electronic E" and made this an instant R&B smash with its funky bass line, exhuberant horn and string arrangements, latin-tinged percussion and the powerhouse vocals by the legendary Ms. Moore herself is why this song is a favorite for fans such as myself. Much love & respect for you and Jackie. |

Hello again, soulful folks! In fact, I likes a lot the little i have by this soulful woman. Recently, a very good friend of mine, send me a soul selction that includes a precious cover (or original?) of "Time". I only have heard it before by The Mighty Clouds Of Joy (also excellent!). But this other by Jackie Moore made me try for reaching more material. Hi, Bigdaddy, I also have the "This Time Baby" by O'Jays. I likes it a lot. My fave of the album jointly with "Take Me To The Stars". I remember is write by Gamble and LeRoy Bell (not L. Huff), and for the arrangements, surely is produced-arraned by Thom Bell. It's funny that (until Bobby Eli tolds here in SD), i was wrong and thinks that "the other version" (more "disco") of "This Time Baby" was by Deniece Williams! I blame it in a Juke Box I played sometimes in my teens. BTW, have a lot of reasons for congratulate Mr. Electronic: "Magic Three Circus" and the "Magic Of The Blue" masterpiece album by Blue Magic is also in his 30th Anniversary (is from '74 if I well remember). Peace & Soul Food |

Hi Big Daddy!! Thank you SO much for the compliments, my friend!! Wow man, 25 years, a quarter of a century. dang, where did the time go. I can remember just like it was yesterday, the big disco ball at Roseland in the sumer of '79 where jackie shone as a star, and, would you believe, a young Whitney Houston sang backing vocals that night!! Many dont know that the rhythm section that played on This Time baby, as well as the album was none other than Atlantic Starr!! BTW, the song was written by Leroy Bell and Casey James. |

Bigdaddy, Bobby E: Doesn't it make you wonder how it is that so many of our favorite songs just happen to have the name "B. Eli" somewhere on them??? I've noticed that. Strange phenomenon, isn't it |

Hey, Mr. Electronic! Good info about Atlantic Starr! Another fine act that, sadly is very hard to find in Spain. I only have their "Silver Shadow" but have heard many more. BTW, you refered that they played on the O'Jays album or the Jackie Wilson album? My copy of "So Full Of Love" only have the credits of writers-producers-arrangers. Also, in the case of "This Time Baby" says is write by Gamble - LeRoy Bell. I have checking it now. Is possibly a tipographic error by spanish CBS (??). Peace! |

Hey Manny!! I would say that the first 5 Atlantic Starr LPs are excellent as well. I love all of the LPs with Sharon Bryant, before the group downsized their membership. I'll give you one guess who produced their first one or two LPs! |

Hey, Brother Juice! Yes, I knows our honorific member in SD, Mr. Bobby Eli produced the two first Atlantic Starr albums. I read in a soul encyclopdia where also tolds that firsty, at A&M records, the original producer that was "assigned" to him was the same producer for Commodores (Carmaichel, i believe, ?). But finally was Bobby who made the production work. (We can start a new trhead about soul artists who don't have had never relation with Bobby!, Smile!). Recently I visited the Cynthia Biggs website where can see Sharon Bryant is collaborating with she. Peace! |

Manny, Regarding Atlantic Starr, James Carmichael came aboard for the third album. There were never any other producer considerations before my involvement with them as I came along just as they were signed. When Bobby Martin was there producing L.T.D., it was he who suggested to the label that they hire me as the producer for A.S. Some of thes so called "encyclopedias" have their facts wrong so many times that its pathetic. |

WB, Those two pix were taken during my association with the group, and imo THAT was the winning lineup. To be in the studio with them and to watch them and hear them grow right before me, was magical, and to see and hear Sharon work in the studio, was simply awesome!! |

Bobby, I have to say that I was angry after they pared the group. I felt betrayed & I always felt that regardless of their crossover success, the group was better when Sharon Bryant was there. I don't think that I ever forgave the Lewis brothers for that one. I can still hear Sharon singing "Rock to the top now, Rock don't stop now, keep climbing....climbing." Damn, I miss those days!!! |

They were the first group I saw live to use the big screens and alot of stage effects like the pyro thing. I saw trhem open a show for The Manhattans at Madison Garden's Felt Forum and a couple years later open for The O'Jays at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. They were fabulous both times!! S.S. |
