Sounds like it's gonna be a great show Barry! Bobby Womack has always been one of my favorite singers! Please let us know how the show is. I wonder what songs he performs in his act nowadays. He's got SO MANY classics to chose from! |

I am going to see Bobby at his London show on the Friday but will also be at the Hilton Weekender on the Sunday to chat with / watch Impromp2 who include a couple of Cleveland guys I have corresponded with for some time (Johnny Britt -- a guy who used to back Sly, Slick & Wicked and Bobby English -- ex of the group 9th Street Exit). |

Can,t wait to see Bobby in Birmingham on Saturday.Anyone in the Birmingham area had the chance to read a great interview in the Birmingham Post newspaper today.I understand the Birmingham Evening Mail may have a piece tomorrow.I am told by the author of the Post article Bobby is very "upbeat" about the gigs, and was prepared to talk for over 45 minutes about all subjects.I think we are in for a real treat. If anybody from the sight knows me please introduce yourselves. REGARDS FRANCIS T

yeah, francis this is gonna be the big one, I'm going to the manchester gig and I have a feeling he's going to have to be dragged from the stage,at the last one 14 years ago people shouted out the songs and he did a shortened accapella versions of them, with an 18 piece band full versions of "trust your heart" and "give it up" are mouthwatering |

I was just playing him tonight....his Saftey Zone' album is my favorite...hard to pick but that one has much momentum for me...he does nasty versions of 'How I wish That It would Rain', and Something You Got' - reggae style...my favorite record by him is 'Daylight'....I can do some relating to that song...minus the 'beer cans on the lawn'...better not leave all that junk at my house...lol... |

I kept that original UA cassette of "Safety Zone" until I got the songs I liked on that 1993 2 CD set. God that cassette sounded bad out the box. "Trust In Me", "Daylight"--love those songs. |

Jester is on the button. It was Bobby WOW-mack last night in London. I have always liked his stuff but didnt realise what a truly great performer he is. Good to see he seems to be in great shape, looking very trim and fit and did a 90 minute set with Altrinna Grayson also in amazing voice. He looked so comfortable and in control but also made it look so natural as the soul flowed. The band seemed to be all-US (probably his regular band) and was so tight...with a drummer and percussionist. I am converted!! |

Bobby in Birmingham was excellent ,although his decision not to do an encore was a little wierd.(He had gone down a storm- so why no encore?)He did not sing a couple of titles of particular interest to UK fans, although the promoters had given him information about them.So with no "home is where the heart is" or an encore we went away having witnessed an otherwise brilliant set.Bobby was certainly looking good and sounding great. For those too far away from Mr Womack's tour itinerary, there's always the consolation prize... DVD's... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/o bidos/ASIN/B00004Z4VH/qid=1085 957243/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_9_1/202 -9841683-7754242 Or http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/o bidos/ASIN/B00004D0D5/qid=1085 957243/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_9_3/202 -9841683-7754242 They are beautiful...(in the first one Val Young is among the background singers) Wonder B If you mess with the 'fro, you gotta go! It was strange that he didn't encore in Birmingham... maybe he gave everything in the main set? He was certainly well received... adulation would not be putting it too strongly. Did anyone else find the DJ sets/other rooms totally flat and devoid of atmos? Did anyone else notice a gorgeous slim dark haired girl in a striking red and white print dress that stopped me in my tracks more than once!? ;-)

after attending Womack in Manchester last night I feel slightly deflated after the promise of him doing new songs which he hasn't done before, no such thing, his set was nearly the same as he did 14 years ago, I also wish he would have completly finished some songs instead of going into "Let me hear you say Yeah", it pains me to write this as I am his greatest admirer, but an earlier post was surprised there was no "home is where the heart is", this and another new song would have sufficed, ah well beaten by the hype again, saying that he was the reason I got into this great music of ours, and I hope his next album will blow me away |

iam just back from birmingham ,it appears he did 1hr 40 minutes in london and only 1hr 10 mins in birmingham ? also the crowd booed when he didnt do a encore ,i found the percussion a bit flat compared to the soulseduction dvd , also he was supposed to do a signing and that was cancalled last moment due to illness ,maybe that is the reason why, alltrinna and me had a conversation over lunch ,saturday tea time it seems she has some material in the can and is looking for a label ,did anyone see her on sunday doing a ad lip with improptu2 ,amazing and hilarious had the crowds up with her singing and a real lovely person .iam in talks with a m,ajor promoter to bring her back over .i will keep you posted |
