A L.A. federal grand jury has indicted Ronnie on 5 counts of tax evasion & 1 count of failing to file a tax return. These charges carry a maximum jail sentence of 26 YEARS in the federal pen. I think that the timing is horrendous. As we know, Ronnie had a stroke recently. Why in the world would they choose to hit him with this now? The timing is almost inhumane. I hope that Ronnie is found innocent of all charges, as the allegations are not pleasant as presented. They even allege that he deposited & spent money from royalties that belonged to other Isley Brothers businesses & members, including his deceased brother O'Kelly. These are scurrilous charges & of course, Ronnie is presumed innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law. Here's the link: http://www.lawfuel.com/index.p hp?page=press_releases&handler =focus&pressreleaseid=1750&cat egory=&return=list-publication s&sortby=timestamp&screen=1 I really hope that Ronnie is innocent of these charges. Damn is right...why wait until the man is sick and come after him for not paying taxes, sometimes it is not the artist that is suppose to pay those taxes...however, in this society the way they have it everyone has to pay some way or another...it is all designed to bring the man down just like they did Michael J, and so many others that are at the top of their game... |
