I saw the Neville Brothers on the Today show on Saturday, October 9, 2004. They sang "Ball of Confusion", which is one of the cuts on their new album "Walkin' In The Shadow Of Life". Their rendition of "Ball Of Confusion", is fantastic! The brothers, Aaron, Art, Charles, Cyril and Ivan are the face of todays New Orleans Music scene. I just love that New Orleans "twang" that is so prevalent in their singing. Aaron, what can I say about Aaron. His voice is so versatile, he can sing any genre of music. One of my favorite albums by Aaron is "Soulful Christmas". His rendition of "Ave Maria" is one of the best I have ever heard, and his biceps are the best I have ever seen. I definitly plan on purchasing "Walkin' In The Shadow Of Life". |

SS, I didn't know that. The Nevilles perform the theme song for my fave show, The Wire, currently in its third season on HBO. The song is "Way Down In the Hole", a Tom Waits original (2nd season) which was performed by the The Five Blind Boys in the first season. The Nevilles doing "Ball of Confusion" works for me on several levels. I must give a listen. |

All, Vonnie - I saw that show too - and agree they did a great job on "BOC." I absolutely loved - "Tell It Like It Is." My parents used to play that one at the parties they hosted. I heard it so much until - I knew the words from heart. "Go and find yourself a toy" LOL! Years later, when I learned and appreciated who Aaron Neville was - I was slightly surprised that it was him. He hit that one out of the park. That was a bad jam - indeed. |

I saw them perform a few years ago. I think it was at Jazz Fest. They were great. |
