Hello Everyone. Over the weekend I was playing the Kent C.D. "Chicago Radio Soul" CDKEND133. This is an excellent compilation of Chess recordings from the mid 60's that apparently received radio play in Chicago at the time of release. For track listings etc .. see http://www.acerecords.co.uk/la bels/kentlabel.html or .. even better .. http://66.232.131.72/cgi-bin/S earchCatNo.asp?strProdID=CDKEN D133 One of the tracks on this is an ethereal ballad called "I'm a Lonely Girl" by ANDREA DAVIS. It turns out that the "ANDREA DAVIS" record is actually an early recording by MINNIE RIPERTON!! That led me to think, how many other artists are there who recorded under different names before they became famous. I'm sure that there must be a lot of MINNIE RIPERTON fans out there who don't know of the existance of this record. I can think of a few others, but I'll just leave it as just this one example for the moment. Roger |

Since his name came up, I think I should mention this one: Eddie Wilson, known for the Northern fave "Toast to the Lady", is yet another pseudonym for the great Frank Wilson. Best, Mark |
