The Soul Majestic's were from Chicago, and recorded for Chicago Music Bag and Al-Tog Records. They were produced by Howard Scott (of The Scott Brothers). They were arranged by prolific Chicago arranger, Johnny Cameron. The song you're refering to is actually titled "I Done Told You Baby". Other great songs: "Missing You', and "Time and Time Again". I only know them from 1969-71. I'm guessing they were around for a while after that. That was during Don's heyday, so I'm sure he can fill us in on them. I think I remember them being from The South Side. In 1972, I moved back to The Netherlands, so I know nothing about what was happening in Chicago then. I had moved to L.A. in late 1966, but visited Chi-Town twice a year through 1971. I only visited there sporadically, during the 1970's and '80s. I know nothing about the other records, as I trickle into the '70s only for a few Chicago and Detroit records. |

The Soul Majestics broke up about 1977. The lead singer Dean Williams went on to front Heaven & Earth who cut at least two albums for Mercury in the late 70's. Greg |
