Jim, I'm sorry to learn of this. I knew Ronnie years ago when he was managing Rare Earth. I had brought him Stoney and Meatloaf when I was producing their album and he was most gracious in the percentage he was offering me for doing that. A very nice guy and a great manager. RIP Ron. |

Sad News when I heard it last Tuesday, RON was always looked at and thought of as the FIFTH TOP! - a True Gentleman. It's good that we are able to reflect here at "SD" - even if His "passing" went very quietly. Many Thanks Jim! and Sue W! Condolences to Ron's Family and all The FOUR TOPS Family! RIP - John (Message edited by jaybs on October 11, 2004) (Message edited by jaybs on October 11, 2004) |

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing away - this must be a severe blow to the Tops - keeping the same manager for twenty five years must be some sort of record and that speaks volumes. He was also Martha Reeves' manager in the early seventies - she says in her autobiography that she was ready to quit the business and take a nine-to-five job when she met up with Ron who got her a contract with MCA. My condolenences to his family and friends. Davie |
