Hindal Butts called me last night to relay the bad news that Charley Bannister passed away. Charley was a drummer but his gift was teaching music. My 16 year old brother was taking lessons from Charley until he fell ill. He mentioned to me that he played with Sax Kari, did some work for Robert West, and I believe that he played on some Falcons records. May our prayers be with the Bannister family.

Many thanks for this information Eric.

Although I was unaware of the name Charley Bannister, clearly he made an interesting input to the Detroit music scene.

May he rest in peace.
