I've been reading on another thread the "accounts of allegations made against Philadelphia International Records and Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff in the case of Little Sonny of the Intruders, and would like ask those who have personal knowledge of these events to answer a few questions... Firstly, why did Little Sonny come to Gamble&Huff requesting financial help from them? Why was he in such dire straits after such a successful career in the industry? Secondly, how do you feel that Little Sonny was cheated out of his royalties - do you have personal and first-hand knowledge of the stipulations of the contracts he signed at Philly International? Wasn't he paid to do the songs he made famous, but had no hand in writting according to the credits? Thirdly, and lastly, what of the other Intruders and their financial situations??? Did they share the same fianancial fate as Little Sonny, and what is their current situation??? Please, if you can, bring first hand accounts of the situation... Thanks a million! Peace! Isaiah |

As far as I have heard Little Sonny had a serious drinking problem & possibly even a drug problem. |

Isaiah, Unfortunately, 3 of the 4 are deceased. It seems that it was the death of one of his friends in the group, as well as his mother that pushed Sonny over the edge. (Message edited by juicefree20 on October 07, 2004) |

Hi Juice! I thought Big Sonny and Phil Terry were still alive? I may be wrong though. A friend of mine knew both Big Sonny and Phil and said both went into the insurance business and wanted no parts of the business as they both became Jehovah's Witnesses. This was a good 15 years ago though. |

Hi Nosey. From what I understand 3 of the 4 original members died within the last 10 years. I'll check it out though. (Message edited by juicefree20 on October 07, 2004) (Message edited by juicefree20 on October 07, 2004) |

Hello, So far, I stand corrected. Eugene Daughtry & Little Sonny Brown have passed on. |
