I always thought George Benson and Donny Hathaway had a similar sound... Imagine them doing a duet with George and Donny scatting... Young, Gifted, and Black or The Ghetto... These two woulda to' it up!

Medusa, since you mentioned Tammi Terrell, and everyone says that it was Valerie Simpson who was doing all of that singing on the albums after she became ill, then it's got to be a wrap... Valerie Simpson and Tammi Terrell...

I thought a lot of them Funk Band leaders sounded a great deal alike, too... Sugar Foot and Maurice White, Larry Blackmon... OWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Yeah, that's one word they all had down pat!!! What Genius!(smile!)

I remember reading that Valerie (Simpson) Filled in for Tammi...but(to me), there are no similarities.
Tammi has an almost like a little girls (a bit nasal) voice. Valerie doesn't sound like that (to me).
When I listen to Tammi singing "I Can't Believe You Love Me" and Wanda Rogers(Marvellettes) singing "When You're Young & In Love", I hear the similarities....(to me)
what about Calvin Richardson & Darnell(SOLO)?

Medusa, Wanda Rogers voice is so beautiful and so unique... I feel I can look into her life story just hearing her sing... I don't get that impression from Tammi, though... So you think Valerie's voice was better than Tammi's, huh???(smile!)

You're right about the title of this thread, though... It coulda been all of the titles, but I think we all got the point(smile!) Say, how about Lou Rawls and Arthur Prysock, or Miles Jaye and Teddy Pendergrass??? How about R. Kelly and Marvin Gaye??? Yeah, I guess R. Kelly and Aaron Hall are a better fit...(smile!) And no, I never did hear that Aretha duet with G.B., but I'd like to! I'd like to strum your guitar better though(LOL!) OOOh, you sound soooooo sweet and clear...(smile!)

Isaiah,I didn't think my picks were wack. I was laughing in regards to the R.Kelly /Avant comparasion.(since I'm not a fan of their music)

Charise,I' glad to see that you like the Pete Belaisco CD.(It's BADD!!!!!!)

Another comparsion I want to add is Jimi-SRV.
Now I'm a fan of both musicians,BUT I have to be honest. Both gentleman didn't have the world's greatest voices,BUT they both played a MEAN AXE!!

{and unfortunately died way too early. :-( }

Isaiah,
you are so crazy (LOL)...
I think Valerie's voiced sounded a bit more mature than Tammi's did, not neccessary better.
It's hard for me to believe Tammi & Marvin weren't attracted to eachother at all.
I know if I were Tammi, singing:
"Heaven Must've sent You from above"...I would've been 'GUILTY'
So Isaiah, you'd like to strum my guitar hunh?
