Has anyone heard this new cd yet? I was very impressed. Latifah does her thing. She does a wonderful Al Green remake of Simply Beautiful. She also does a Dr. Buzzards Savannah Band remake Hard Times which is very good to.
Anybody else out there heard this cd yet? |

I have the CD, and I agree. It's fantastic!
The girl can blow!
I love "I Put A Spell On You", "Moody's Mood", and "Simply Beautiful" also.

I heard the commercial for it & she's definitely taking a gamble with her core audience. I always heard the potential of her voice & I admire her for trying to stretch out a bit. She's not willing to be stereotyped as just a Rapper & I'm glad to see her career growth. She's a pretty good actress & I wish her nothing but success at truly "Keeping It Real". |

The Queen (Latifah that is) was on Good Morning America 2 weeks ago and said that singing was her first love. The rapping just happened. This ladies has some nice chops. I played her cd in my spin class last night and everyone enjoyed her. I'm glad she finally got around to recording it. After hearing her sing in "livin Out Loud" and "Chicago" the cd is waaaaay overdue |

Dana, the Earth mother is blowin' up BIG. She had her own feature on 60 Minutes tonight. Very well done. Showed some great footage of her singing a song from the new album Reminded me of Patti Austin a bit. Will definitely have to check out this album.
BTW, Is it just me, or does anyone else think she's a cutie pie? |

Queen Latifah did a mean Patti LaBelle impersonation on Saturday Night Live last night. She was Miss Patti being interviewed by Prince. It was funny! |

Latifah was in a movie some years back, as a jazz singer...can't call it right now.
She did a superb job, I love her PERIOD!

She sang in the movie Chicago....with Richard Gere..I believe...
She has a great voice..of course you are going to get the die hard rap fans who are going to down her for trying something new. I was reading some reviews on amazon after my cousin ladylove told me about it. And while most were positive there were the few that were upset. One reviewer went so far to say and I quote "Whats's next Will Smith does Sinatra?"

I've heard the whole CD at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore played from time to time, and... according to the review on all music.com, it has 4.5 stars out of five!
