Hey folks. I'm new to this board, and I'm wondering if any of you have any information about Harold Johnson or the Harold Johnson Sextet. I've managed to track down a couple of their LPs, but they seem to be pretty hard to find. And I've searched the internet, but there seems to be little or no information about this great group. Is Harold Johnson still alive? Anybody have any information?

Are you talking about the Jazz group that was on the Revue label?

Is it the same Harold Johnson who wrote and produced for a time at Motown and also wrote I Believe in Love recorded by Rocky Robbins?

Doowopsvoice-
Yes, that's the one. I've only been able to find two of their albums, "Everybody Loves a Winner" and a Harold Johnson solo album called "Wide Open". Apparently their best known album is called "House on Elm Street", but I've never been able to find that anywhere.

Mike S - I don't know if it's the same guy.

Do you know anything about them? A google search turned up nothing.

the producer of that "Elm St" lp was Chuck Johnson

http://soulbeattv.com/.

He was a pioneer in Black Radio/TV programming and other music pursuits. He lived in San Diego when he produced that lp. I recently found a copy but i sent it to him a year before he died. His heirs may be willing to part with it. Go to the site for contact info.

A Harold Johnson played piano and organ on some Eddie Kendricks tracks for Motown, with Frank Wilson and Leonard Caston producing.
