I'm going to throw this out here and see if anyone remembers. I'm not sure of the exact year,but a concert was filmed on the campus of the University of Chicago.(Mandel Hall to be exact) The lineup was The Ohio Players,Graham Central Station,and TaTa Vega. It aired here in Chicago,when the Midnight Special was shown on WMAQ Channel 5. I've asked many Chicago folkes and they don't remember this particular show ever airing. So I'm throwing this out to either the Chi-town folkes or anyone that has a good memory. If you know the year of this concert,please post. (I'm curious) Thanks | ||

Okay,I'll stand by for the source. Maybe Don,Chi-Drummer,DVD Mike,or anyone else,(that might know about this particular show)may shed some light on this subject. The show aired twice,and this was before vcr's were afordable.(lol!!) Hell,I'm still trying to locate Curtis in Chicago.It was filmed at the WTTW studio.(the same location where they filmed Soundstage) The Impressions, Gene Chandler,Leroy Hutson,and Jerry Butler were on the show. I know there's a CD and vinyl version of the TV performance exist,but I heard the actual video performance is lost. :-( | ||

Thanks SoniT. I forgot about TV Tome.Com. I just checked the site and found out when the show originally aired. It aired on April 4th,1975. The songs they performed were "Jive Turkey","Fire","I Want To Be Free","Skin Tight" and "Pain". So I take it that they were touring around the time the "Fire" album was released. Although it didn't list that Graham Central Station and TaTa Vega were on the show,but I do remember that they also performed. As most of you know, the Ohio Players were on top of their game,during the glory days at Mercury Records.(which by the way, was located at IBM Plaza a.k.a Marina City Towers in Downtown Chicago) I'm relived now knowing that this show actually exist.:-) Thanks again SoniT.
