Mike, I'm aware of the groups name. I use to hear alot of stuff by them on WKKC. We're they a vocal group or we're they a house music band that played house music and we're they from Chi Town?
Can you elaborate more about VOCALPOYNT, I'm interested to know, I like to be made aware of them Mike.

Don, my man Byron and the group are definitely not house music.....however they are hard to describe, They are talented enough to sing anything but if I had to label them based on the last time I saw them on the southside of Chicago, I would say they are somewhere between Manhattan Transfer/Creative Source, Byron has a new CD out and he just recently posted to SDF, Since he is here maybe he'll answer your query his self. GEETEE is a big fan and can hook you up. Yes they are fron Chi-town like a few of us ! Oh yeah DVD nice photo.....

So this is The Chitown Connection, huh. Next thing, you all will be telling me that you know know Chi Drummer too. Well, well, what do you all have here.

Byron and I have been close friends for 20 years. We met while standing outside of P.S. Recording Studios in the summer of '84 while Tom Tom 84 was producing Meiko Nakahara, a Japanese singer-songwriter. Byron was good buddies with the late singer-writer-producer Garry Glenn. They wrote a number of songs together. He's still tight with Marshall Titus, another singer-songwriter, who's actually more popular in Europe than in the U.S.

Don, this is a continuation of the thread where many folks on SDF were saying that Chicago talent didn't get enough props.......I was simply trying to add to the mix.....The Dells.......Byron....Chaka Khan.........our beloved Curtis Mayfield, Gene "Get Down" Chandler...Tyrone Davis...Jerry "Commish" Butler...The Chilites.......just a little Chicago Flava for the SDF true believers....

I'm glad to see Byron and Vocalpoynt getting some props on SD. Hey Don,back in May of this year,Byron stopped by 'HPK and gave me a advance copy of his latest CD. Try Dusty Groove or better yet, check his website,www.byronwoods.com
Sign his guestbook he'll be glad you stopped by.
Very cool brother and very knowledgeable too.

DVD Mike,I still have the photos of Byron and youself stopping by 'HPK a few years ago. If I can locate them and find a way how to post them on the site,I will.

Mike, Thanks for turning SDF on to Vocalpoynt and myself. Wow! 20 years brother Mike! Best of friends for another 20! Cool! Vocalpoynt is in the studios working on some new grooves for release in 2005. By the way VP will be celebrating 20 years as a group next year. Our main menu for our sound is Jazz/R&B. We love to take songs and put a little VP twist on it...U Dig! Andreas, Thank you for the great props on VP and making "Land Of Smooth" a reality. Geetee Thanks for keeping VP and myself on the wonderful sounds of HPK! Your program is always In Da Mix!Kdubya, Thank you for your support of VP! Chi-drummer and Don, I am working on some "Live" grooves soon with VP, so we will keep you informed.
Peace,
B.
