Hey Gang
I saw a video on VH-1 Classics on Sunday and who did I see but our own forum member Marshall Crenshaw (when he was younger) singing his top forty hit Someday Someway and I thought that was interesting to see one of our forum members being honored on Vh-1. I dont know if it was a video or a concert in a club but he was great!! I hope you saw it Marshall....

Wow...I remember when I first saw that video on MTV (early 1980s)...God, was it that long ago...

I also played Marshall's "Whenever You're On My Mind" to death when I was doing the college radio thang in the 80s. It's my favorite MHC tune.

Since you mentioned him, Marshall is playing at the Pontiac "Arts, Beats, and Eats" festival this weekend.

Marshall's gig is on Saturday at 7:30 nestled between gigs by Stewart Franke and "Beatlemania Live!"

Also, for those on the board who have previously expressed an interest in him, honest-to-goodness Detroiter signed to Motown Records Kem will be playing tonight (Friday) on the same stage at 7:20 PM.

Isn't that ironic that Marshall's gig is right before "Beatlemania Live"? Marshall played "John Lennon" in a touring cast of Beatlemania! years before his solo career took off.

I saw Marshall in in that and he was great!!! Everytime I read something about him he is a critics darling and they have been wondering for years why he is not bigger..but he has a devout cult following from what I understand and his music are pop gems and almost all of them are worth gold status. They are peppy and he shows his enthusiasm when he sings he is truly a treasure and I love his music..
