Carrying on with the 50's Detroit theme
as with the previous
I have dug out another track
from my various music formats
again from the 1950's era.
And to my knowledge another obscure(to me)
Detroit Record Label called
War Conn Records.
The track is by a group called
The title of the 2 sides are
A slow number with the Lead talking
with the backing group giving it some nice high harmonies.
The flip side is
'Only the Lonely'
with an uptempo beat with the group
members giving loads of 'doo-wah's'in it.
With a very distinctive flute playing in there as well.
It is on the
War Conn record Label number 2216.
Can anyone please enlighten me
with anything at all to do with the Label and the Group.
appreciate any feed back.

Mel I tried to post this yesterday but the gremlins must have been in the grooves. From memory War Conn Records was at 356 Clair Pointe. Detroit. MI. and the Celtics 45 was recorded in '62. If you like the old stuff there is a great Sequel CD out in the UK called Motor City Blues (Please Mr Forman). it was recorded around '73 at Ann Arbor and contains a lot of the artists you often ask about. E mail me if you can't locate a copy. Keith
