Very good questions..can't wait to hear the answers. I love both of those groups. I wonder if Sieda Garrett is still with the Heavies?

If these bands had've stayed around longer it would've been awsome. These bands we're creating something new and something worth wide. VH1 had heavy rotation for playing Swing Out Sister and The Brand New Heavies as well as BET (The Donnie Simpson hosted era I enjoyed the most). I think everyone's attention was focus on Hip Hop/Gangster Rap and the erotic wet sex party scene. When I think about it alot of us missed out on some very genius music by these two groups. I 've been to plenty fashion shows and they still play SOS. I do see alot of today's R&B artist in the so called Neo Soul and/or Nu-Soul vein. These two groups started and set the trend.
I wish they we're back and activated again.

N'Dea Davenport was the first singer with BNH, when she left they thought getting someone as well known in the business already would help so they chose Siedah Garrett (who had found fame through her collaborations with Q... She even had a solo LP out before joining BNH), but maybe she got homesick or something and left BNH in the middle of a tour or close to one (I read reports that they didn't leave each other in good terms), and got replaced by Carleen Anderson (daughter of Bobby Byrd and Vicki Anderson) the former lead singer of the great UK based 'acid-jazz' band YOUNG DISCIPLES with whom she had a hit with the track 'Apparently Nothin'.

I seem to have lost track of their wherebaouts lately, so I don't know if they are still together...
It looks I am not the only one wondering what they're up to since the unofficial website http://www.webpro.se/bnh/index2.htm says that the webmaster hasn't received any news for a while too...
