Hello Juice. I'm doing great. Good to see you.

I'm listening to my man Mr. Marvin Gaye. I just loved that man. My sister called me when Marvin was murdered. She asked me to sit down before she told me. She knew how much I adored him. His music had given me so much joy. I was devastated.

Looking forward to getting the new book. Dyson is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and writes a great column in Phila. Magazine.

I bought the book a couple of weeks ago and found it to be very well done. Even after having read at least three Marvin bios, this one still had enough fresh info to keep me interested.

SisDetroit:
If you read my post on the other thread regarding Marvin, this was news I had a tough time having to help report when I was in radio during 1984.

BTW - my first Marvin 45 was "What's Going On", which my sister Pamela bought for me when it was released in 1971.

Any of interest that has to do with Motown and Marvin Gaye, I must read. I plan on making a trip to Barnes & Noble to view and possibly purchase Eric Michael Dyson's account on the "Master".

p.s.: Is David Ritz's "Divided Soul" still in print? If it is, is it in the major bookstore chains? It is a must read in my book! (no pun intended!:))

Michael Eric Dyson was a neighbor of mine when he lived in Chicago a few years ago. He was a professor at the University of Chicago and is also an ordained minister. After seeing his interview with Tavis Smiley last night, I look forward to reading his book.
