Joy Stamford had a single out on Bryan 1011 "Just want to be your joy".

Written by Vinnie Barrett.
Prod: Mike Nise for Nise productions in assoc. with Society Hill Sound, Phila.

String Arr: A. Coley

I've got a sting of queries:

Whatever became of Joy Stamford ?

Is Mike Nise still in the biz ?

Who ran Society Hill Sound ?

Is A. Coley, the fellow Arnold Coley who did some work with the group Quickest Way Out along with Stan Watson ?

Who were behind Bryan Records? They also had Milt Matthews on the label.

Hi Corn,

Joy Stanford is an old friend of mine from Philly.
She is a real mellow lady and a nice person who always came to our house parties.
She had a very pleasing Karen Carpenteresque kinda thing going on.

She later recorded a song caled Thank You for GSF writen by Norman Harris and Allen Felder.

Mike Nise was the guy who later "produced" the tv shows dance Party USA and the local Dancin on air.hes not a record producer.
I saw him several weeks ago and he is still connected to the biz, sort of.

Society Hill sound was owned by a crazy old eccentric white lady who bought it from danny Starobin(Starr Studios) which was an awful sounding place, although it didnt lok that bad.
It was in the middle of a series of buildings that also included the Copper Penny restaurant which was in the middle of Society Hill Towers apartments in Old City.
Parking sucked!!
Later on Kajem bought it and it became Victory studios.
It is now owned by former sigma engineer, John Anthony.
Parking still sucks, although the room sounds better after it was remodled, not great, but better.
Bryan records was owned by the people who produced the Bruce Lee films.
Affirmative on Arnold Coley.
