I can probably add Cal Street's own favourites to this thread. She loves them all but particularly

Lonely Lonely Girl Am I
Everybody Needs Love
Save Me (My Ship Of Love Is Sinking)
Bring Back The Sunshine
These Things Will Keep Me Loving You

This lady can still knock these songs out with ease.

I really like their album for Ian Levine. They sounded great. I wish they were still recording!

The best female singing group for vocal talent that Motown had,and still can sing all their material in the record keys

Their version of "The Boy From Crosstown" was also quite good.

Ron-that's really nice of you to add that comment. And it is SO true

Robb-I am so pleased you like "Crosstown"-when the ladies performed the song at Cleethorpes, they were overwhelmed with the reception

These ladies are my absolute favourites....and I am lucky to be able to still say ARE and not WAS.

Question: When are Cal & The Galz gonna perform at B.B. King's in Manhattan, New York City as has (in the last year or so): * Aretha Franklin * Martha Reeves & The Vandellas * Supreme Mari Wilson * Dennis' Edwards' Temptations * Ronnie Spector (of The Ronettes) * The Village People * Freda Payne * Shirley Alston (of The Shirelles) * Darlene Love * many, many more.....

Stonewall....you get the guys at BB Kings to send me an email and I shall pass on the message.

I can tell you that the ladies would love a trip to New York to strutt their stuff.

I'm gonna take the "Crosstown" bus (42nd Street) there on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. Very seriously! True, I do know a few there butt it would be good for U to call as well. That's how these other acts get booked. Supreme Mari loves the place. M.R.V. were sold out there only 4 months ago. Ronnie Spector is there every year.
Moreover, they pride themselves on original R&B/ soul artists -- plus crossover groups such as KC & The Sunshine Band and The Village People.

See: www.STONEWALLvets.org/recentpastevents.htm.

B.B. King's is a very big room with different (better for viewing) "step" levels; good food is served. Located off the =new= Times Square, it is very convenient! Plus, they promote, promote, promote -- which, Cal, as any entertainer would, endears. They put out great, colorful promo cards besides advertising.

Bi the way, "M-45" should have had The Velvelettes -- esp. since they totally dissed The Marvelettes.
