Is it me or does the track sound a little Jackson 5? Nonetheless, I do like the song!

I'm sorry but I don't like that song. It has a nice beat but her voice irritates the hell outta me. However, I've heard several other tracks on "Damita Jo" that I like but not "I Want You."

Well, she has never been known to have a loud voice...I do agree...I have her CD and some of the other songs I do particularly like. But, as I have said in another thread, although I do believe in artistic expression, I have to get used to the blatant references in some of the songs. :)

Yeah, some of the blatant references are unnecessary. I like the CD but I think it's too long. She could have cut down on some of the tracks. I definitely like "Damita Jo" better than the "All for You" album. Janet is still my girl but I was REALLY a fan during the "Control" and "Rhythm Nation" albums. I wouldn't call myself a devoted fan anymore.

I like the old school feel of it. I wish Kanye wouldn't have used such a harsh sounding drum kit. I guess I know what he was going for but I would have used a brush kit.

His snares sound like firecrackers going off.

I didn't like the song until she sang it live on Good Morning America. Surprisingly, she sounded strong live and I could hear the words more clearly than on the record. Janet's "sound" is sometimes to hide her voice in the mix, however with the voice front and center it sounded like a good old-school song. There are better cuts on the album though and I am not sure why that particular song was released.

By the way, she looked fabulous and the audience shouted and hooted down Diane Sawyer's attempts to grill her over and over about the Superbowl. In fact, Diane clearly frustrted, finally threw in the towel and stopped.

I didn't see her on GMA, but I wish that I had. I guess she does have a strong voice, but as you said it tends to hide in the studio mix.

The GMA mini concert was cool. I enjoyed it. Loved when the audience sounded down Ms. Sawyer with, "No More Superbowl!" Amen!

It's like the media is really pissed and annoyed with Janet and they want to continue to punish her and they want this project(new CD) to fail. You can feel the hostility! Let it go folks!

I like "I Want You". Kind of a laid-back, lazy day type of song. The whole CD is good. Jimmy & Terry and Janet have done it again...

She was acting funky (bad attitude) on 106th & Park, but then again she was being repeatedly asked about the tit.

I'd be pissed too if all I wanted to do was to promote my CD and the media keeps asking me about my incident. :)

LOL!

You should've seen it, I couldn't believe she was acting like that on TV! Well, I guess she doesn't mind letting it all hang out anymore (smile)

During the period that I was the Engineering Department Head at "Hitsville USA" (1961-1972) I saw many ladies that "got loud" with see through tops, Etc.

I am 63 years old. I like to get aroused when I cuddle with my lover, Annie, but otherwise, I feel that all this sensationalism about this matter of exposing a breast on TV is overblown.

Except for one thing: If she was not intending to show her nipple, why did she have it decorated with some kind of teat ring?

In my opionion, you all, on this forum, should listen to some Beethoven!

Michael McLean:

Do you mean to tell me Beethoven the dog has released an album? What is this industry coming to. LOL!!!

Very funny!

This discussion is too light hearted, and I am going to nipple it in the bud.
