Whilst leafing through some of my singles, I came across Ronnie Walker on Bell 651 "I'm saying goodbye" / "My love (doesn't love me anymore)".
Arr: Glenn Williams,Jr.
Prod: Phil Gaber, George Wilson

Whatever became of Ronnie Walker

Is George Wilson mentioned above as co-producer, the vocalist George Wilson?

Did Phil Gaber produce any more records? His name seems to ring a bell.

Is this the same Ronnie Walker who made, "Really, Really Love You?" if so, I was wondering about him @ a year ago. He's from Philly and used to serenade us on the block back in the day. He used to sing with some guys who called themselves the Barons, then the Casinos: Reed, Louis Bailey, some guy named Jose who ended up touring with Laverne Baker, and one or two other guys. He tored up Misty ala the Vibrations! I have not seen hide nor hair of Ronnie since the 70s. My sister and I used to run into him alot in the clubs and I remember he used to belong to a bowling league. I would love to know what happened to Ronnie.

It just so hapens that Ronnie W. is a friend of mine.

We did some local gigs togetger just last year via Dave Brown and his Philly Archives label. on which Ronnie has a brilliant compilation of all of his songs.

He is a nice guy and is doing great.
He also appears in Ian levine's Northern Soul documentary.
I was there when it was taped.

He still belongs to that bowling league, too!!

By the way...

Hey Nosey, were you speaking of the Casinos who recording "Im Falling'?
Man I havent seen Jose, the lead singer in years.
I sure do hope that he is o.k.

BTW...
George Wilson was the manager of radio station WHAT.

Phil Gaber also produced the Empopers Karate and Some kind of wonderful by the Soul Brothers Six

They were recorded at Impact Sound up on Castor Ave, under a shoe store which engineer Tony Schmitt owned.

I have a few singles by Ronnie Walker! My favorite is "Really Really Love You". Is there anything available by him on CD besides this song?
I also liked "You're the One" and the flip side, the name of which escapes me now.

Eli, I don't know what they recorded, I just have fond memories of those guys turning out every talent show at Connie Mack Recreation center. Bob Reed, their bass singer, lived down the block fro me and Ronnie and the guys would be on Bob's steps singing during the summer. Glad to know he's still in the land of the living. Is he still with, I think her name was Edie? Just being Nosey, that's all.

Nosey,

E: I just thought of this: we are six degrees of separation. We both knew Larry Huggins, Buddy Turner and now Ronnie Walker.

It warmed my heart to know that Ronnie is still around and doing well.......probably a featured soloist on his church's choir.

Eli: If I ever meet you and Vonnie, remind me to tell you a funny story about Larry. (I can't put it on the net.) You know how Larry was well....we went out on a date once. You know it was like going out with Little Richard. Hee, hee.
