Hi Mel. Glad your feeling better (exaggerated or not!).
Barbette and Mel's "Let's Get Together", Whip 346, was produced by Clarence Marshall, Bruce Scott and N. Grubbs. I don't know who "N. Grubbs" is, but it may be a pseudo or pen name. The song was written by Clarence Marshall, W. Middleton and Doc Calhoun. The flip side, "Swing It Together", instrumental, was performed by the Dotty's/Star Track/Whip/Northern Del-La house band(?)-Doc Calhoun and the Hutmen. It was published by Snowdrift Music.
I suspect that Mel was Melvin Davis. He sounds a lot similar to him, and Melvin was a writer in the Snowdrift group of labels. I have no idea who Barbette was. But her voice is familiar to me as one of the prolific Detroit young women singers of the mid sixties. I know I've heard her voice before. I can't think of a Barbara it could be, but maybe someone else knows who she is.

That's no surprise to me, Mel; as if I remember correctly, there were several different "Snowdrift Group" (Dotty's/Star Track, etc) tracks used on more than one Detroit release.

Hey Mel. I suggest you don't post 2 threads with exactly the same title within days or hours of each other. ("Any Info On....."). People are bound to think they've already seen it recently and may miss later posts they would otherwise respond to. You've saved a little typing, but might miss valuable information. "Any Info On: Barbette & Mel", and "Any Info On:Carl Jones/Betty Everett on CJ" would have done the trick. I also don't want to miss information that might be added to your interesting threads.
