No, Dyva's not kidding. Standing room is $150. The price range is $150-$425. I've never been to B.B. King's. How many can be seated?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Greg C. (165.247.26.56) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 09:05 pm:

$425.00!?! Are you serious? That has to be a hoax.

After her recent hospitalization, I hope Aretha can still make this gig.

It's indeed a lot, but if Babs Streisand can charge that and more, seeing Aretha in a club has to be a big ticket item. Methinks it will be sold out! Ya think?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Greg C. (165.247.26.56) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 09:13 pm:

B.B King's is a pretty decent club on 42nd Street. The food is good as are the drinks, if you imbibe. The seating is like long style cafeteria tables that you had in high school. There are obstructed views at some angles because of support beams.

Paying $425.00 to see Aretha Franklin is absurd unless you truly must experience this. This is a blatant rip-off!

Top of pageBottom of page   By CORNBREAD (66.185.84.74) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 09:13 pm:

I wonder how much Miss Ross' tickets would cost if she were to perform at B.B. Kings ? Would she sell out ?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Juicefree20 (151.205.175.122) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 10:10 pm:

Unless Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding & Jackie Wilson show up, this is a RIPOFF. I've been to B.B. Kings', $425, I don't think think so. I guess that this was priced for the everyday, hard-working man & woman, huh! Ree Ree should rethink these prices.

There's also a VIP package being auctioned off on Ticketmaster. You get one of the front tables. Having sat at one of those tables for a few shows, I must say its a good view.

Thats a "whale" of a price to have to pay for tickets.

Hello everyone,

I was very disappointed when I found out that the tickets were so expensive. I really wanted to go to see Aretha again before she retired from touring for good. I saw her back in the early '90s at Radio City & she put on a good show. But as much I love Ree Ree's music, I ain't about to dish out that kind of a money for a place like BB Kings. I mean, BB's a nice place but not for no $150-$425! Somebody needs a reality check!

Peace!

Top of pageBottom of page   By Nosey (66.153.113.238) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 01:05 pm:

Can't afford that and I'm keepin it real! (Can't afford $150.00 ticket for that matter.)

Top of pageBottom of page   By DyvaNaye (209.212.74.212) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 01:13 pm:

Yes...to everyone, $425 if you want to enjoy the show...standing room is to view floor beams...$150

Well I love Aretha. I have seen her live, but I will skip it this time. I am not gonna pay car insurance money to see her. I am paying 89.00 to see Prince and I will be just as close.at a larger arena. Not only will youhave to pay that much to see her but I also know that the cover charge will be between 40-50 dollars per person that night...drinks only will be 15-20 dollars. They are notorious for jacking up the prices when they get a major star in.

For $425 Aretha better hit me off ........ I don't mean with her singing, I MEAN HER PERFORMING SEXUAL ACTS ON MY JOYSTICK !!!! SHE BETTER TAKE HER GIGANTIC MELONS (BREASTS) AND WORK ME OVER FOR $425.

Top of pageBottom of page   By Vickie (64.236.243.31) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 03:54 pm:

I am going to See Prince and Madonna at a hefty price...

sheesh, I can't
fit them all into my budget..

I think they should pay me to come see them :)

Top of pageBottom of page   By DyvaNaye (209.212.74.212) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 04:09 pm:

Vickie: It would be a start of a new trend if that could happen:-) I have often said that about overpaid sports figures...

Top of pageBottom of page   By Vickie (64.236.243.31) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 04:13 pm:

DyvaNaye: they should at least throw in a CD or
t shirt for goodness sake.....a couple of beers perhaps.....

:)

Top of pageBottom of page   By DyvaNaye (209.212.74.212) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 04:22 pm:

Vickie:...and the damned peanuts and pretzels...in fact I want a share in the record company at these prices...

Top of pageBottom of page   By Reese (12.15.168.69) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 04:23 pm:

Common, I'm sure that Aretha will be back in NYC again, and at a more affordable price.

Last year, Aretha was supposedly on her farewell tour. I made sure to catch four shows before it was over. So I was very surprised that this BB King gig came up. But I can't help it. If she's in the vicinity, I'm going. So I'll be at BB King's next month.

Top of pageBottom of page   By Aretha Fan (216.139.153.109) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 04:48 pm:

Reese, you're damn fool to spend that much !! Since you're a sucker like that, I have some property in Florida I want to sell you, interested ?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Common (209.2.55.169) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 04:53 pm:

Hey Reese! Bless your heart! I wish I had that kind of money spend to see Aretha. I do hope that she will come this way again. Keeping my fingers crossed.:)

Peace!

Aretha Fan:

If you can guarantee that Aretha will sing at the property in Florida, I might take you up on it. :-)

Reese...the fact that you're willing to spend it to see her shows how much of a fan you are. There's nothing wrong with spending your own money on something you feel is worth it. There are artists who I feel that affectionately about, but (thankfully for my budget), they never charge that much for shows.

Nothing against Aretha, I think she still sounds great, but to be honest, her voice ain't exactly what it used to be. So for me to spend that much on a ticket, would just to be able to have seen the "legend" in concert.

I wonder how many would be willing to spend that much on a Diana, Mary & Cindy show at BB Kings :o)

Top of pageBottom of page   By Juicefree20 (151.205.187.47) on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 - 05:01 am:

It just makes me all & tingly inside, just thinking how these tickets were priced for fans of all income brackets. I can see someone debating this, weighing the pros & cons: Rent...concert......food.....concert......child care payment.......concert.....light bill, etc. Who's going to be there with her? The only way I'll pay that price is if Medusa, DyvaNaye, LadyMystique, SoulSister, Sister Detroit & myself are her background singers. And Mr Jimmy Scott has to have a long set & Nosey gets to do her comedy. Other than that, dey gits no doh!!! Someone over there needs a serious reality check.

All of a sudden, you have to be Donald Trump to see Aretha. Maybe she might do a freebie for us poor folks at Central Park, or, at the very least, one Friday on The Today Show. Even though I'll be at work, I'll tape the show. This is no way to treat loyal fans. This stinks, it truly does!

I'm quite sure there are different prices, although they maybe a bit steep also, but her people know that everyone can't pay that amount for tickets...while there are those who would love to see and hear her perform.
Honestly, came down to me paying bills or spendig $400.00 to see Aretha, I would pay my bills and listen to her tapes, CD's, and records, sipping on some (Grey)Goose with my favorite Companion...that sounds like a real good time 2 me. (smile)
I think even Aretha would understand that.
