A record that Meland thensome and myself were discussing last night at the Wheel in Manchester,i have had it 4 a while but know very little about it.I,t is-My Angel Baby by The Shepherd Boy-the label is United Hits of Detroit(1142)-gold label. The year is shown as 1965.The singer sounds very familiar(Carl Carlton?).I don,t know of anything else on this label, and a lot of Motor City collectors i,ve spoken to have never heard of the label. Can anyone in the u.s. or elsewhere help?

Yes, by all means, re-introduce threads that weren't well-responded to, as there are so very many posts on this forum, that individual posts can get "buried" (and thus forgotten) very quickly. In addition, SD is continuously joined by knowledgeable people at various intervals. Many of them don't look through the archives. And, in any case, archival threads can't move back to the "active" forum board. They can only be discussed again if someone re-introduces them.

The red 45 has on the flipside
''baby I need you'
for some reason tony I recall the red 45 being with pete that time so I should have that on tape as well.
The gold 45 on flip is
'take you from your guy'

Sounds very interesting. I hope someone enlightens us with the information. I wonder if that's another moniker for Wyatt "Big Boy" Shepherd??? Maybe his "Carl Carlton sounding voice" is his falsetto, and he has a rich, relatively deep voice (as Wyatt's "real" voice)?
