Fellow SDFers: This is just a continuing response to the subject that was last discussed two days ago, in an attempt to update the previous topic (I'M HUNGRY!!!!by jrlo), not to necessarily rehash it but to enhance it with more responses from our distiguished members. I've been away from the forum since Wednesday, and I would love 2 respond to it since there were other topics that caught my interest and I didn't get a chance to respond til today.

Now, I'm from the old skool, like everyone else here, we all discuss of course, music, current events, and fun times as well. But when it comes to food, you are talking my favorite subject of all subjects! Of all of the responses that other forum members already made about what's their favorite food, it's been mentioned what I plan to say already. Faves like Fried Chicken, Mac n' Cheez and greens are staples of Soul Food, the very food I literally grew up on. LOVE LOBSTER! especially when it's served with Steak and/or Shrimp, and there was even a mention of Ox Tails, which in fact had before. To me, it tastes like pot roast, but from an Ox, of course. But have any of you tried Venison? I'm sure some of you have, it's Deer meat. It kinda taste like steak, but has a unique wild taste to it and rightfully so. But I haven't had Ox or Venison since the early 90s, and perhaps someday I will try them again. But here are my faves 4 all 2 see.

BREAKFAST: The standard usual-Bacon, Eggs, Sausage (I love them giant link sausage), Pancakes, Grits (w/plenty of butter & cheese AND NO INSTANT! TASTE NASTY!), toast, biscuits (w/butter-n-jelly or topped with sausage gravy), waffles (no matter if its Eggo or freshly made Belgian waffles), French Toast, Omelets, cereal (from Trix to what they call "grown folks" cereals like Special K and others), corned beef hash (greasy, but GOOD!), oatmeal (instant or quick), and anything from Mc Donalds, Burger King (the crossan'wich is da bomb!), Sonic, IHOP (I worked there in '02, used to make some sick, awesome breakfasts!) and Shoneys for their buffets.

LUNCH: usually something light like a small sandwich, but on my really lazy days, see DINNER.

DINNER: Anything American (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.), Italian, Chinese (to a certain number of entrees that doesn't contain squid, some exotic fish or ingredient that I never seen before), French, Jamaican, German (see Chinese), some Japanese (the only thing I did try was Sushi, once, it's a-ight), Mexican (and I ain't just talking about Taco Bell either!), Spanish, Creole (I can make a mean Gumbo, wit evy-thang!"ebonic moment"), anything regional (southwestern, Chicago, etc.), anything pork (excluding what we call "from tha roota 2 tha toota"; snoots and feet I DON'T EAT!), Seafood (excluding squid, scallops, and a certain exotic poisonous blowfish that is a delicacy in Japan that must be prepared by a trained chef and costs around $800-1000 for an ounce serving because it can kill you!:)), any dessert you can think of and all kinds of snacks, candies, chips that the average person has had in their lifetime.

bigdaddy2k4: Oxtails is a misnomer. They are really beef (cows tail cut in segments ala neck bones).

Being raised in New Orleans, I was raised on a lot of seafood. Catfish, oysters, shrimp, crawfish, and just about anything that will come crawlin' out of the Mississippi or the Gulf.
