Where is this lady ? Anyone care to give us some bio info ? Did she sing in a group prior to her solo stuff on Casablanca ?

Maybe she did "too much of that lovemaking" and now she's wondering "what she's gonna do"!!

If this is the same person you are asking about, I remember posting this on the forum a few months ago, but not much seemed to be known about her.

Trying to find any info on this lady other than she was discovered by Barry White is almost impossible.
I spent a fortune on getting her album 2 years ago from Japan, shortly before it was re-released in US and Europe!
I was disappointed to see that her biggest chart hit, Just As Long As We're Together(BB#14RnB)isn't on the album. I have traced two other tracks also not on that album, one of which was probably the B side of the later hit single, (I Taught Him and Don't Say I Didn't Warn You).
So did she have any more singles after that or another album on Casablanca done with Mr W??

Hey mike S. What is the title of the album you got from Japan ? What are the song titles, producer, arranger, musicians etc. ?

Hi mike S.

Where did you find the track "Don't Say I Didn't Warn You". Did it came out as a single?

Cheers
Edwin

Hi CORNBREAD,Gloria Scott had only one LP "What am I gonna do", produced by Barry White, on US Casablanca 9002, in 1974.The songs titles are : What am I gonna do, It's better to have no love, I think of you, Love me, love me, love me, I just couldn't take a goodbye, That's what you say, (A case of) Too much love lovemakin', Help me get off this merry-go-round. A copy last week sold for $ 140+ on ebay, but I didn't know that it was re-released.

Hey Phil: Sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought Mike S was referring to another album by Gloria Scott. I have had her Casablanca album since it came out during the disco boom.

The album I got is the one Phil mentions which he kindly also gave the tracklisting for!
It was issued on CD in Japan a few years ago and I believe Universal put the same cd out a year or so ago in the USA. It's certainly available if you go to amazon or tower.Or was available.
That track I discovered came from spending an hour (sad, huh?)trawling the net trying to find some more info. Sorry can't remember where I got it from because I went from site to site using google and alltheweb.

The track "I Taught Him" came out as a single and the track "Don't Say I Didn't Warn You" as far I know didn't came out on a 45er. I was curious if you had a 45er or not, but it appearded on a comiplation cd called "In The Studio with Sly Stone 1963 - 1965". These tracks where produced by Sly in 1963 along with some other demo's. I'm still not sure if we talk about the same woman. cause we do talk of a 9 year gap (1963 - 1974)...

Hi Wonder B, MERCI for the link !

Edwin - Looks like it could be another Gloria then.
So my guess is that after the Casablanca album in 1974, she had the one additional single in 1975 Just as Long. And then vanished...

It is possible they are one and the same as the album photo has the looks of a lady in her early to mid thirties.

I have asked around and this was the reply.

It is hard to tell if this is Gloria Scott, but I think it might be her. She was 15 or 16 when I knew her. (1963) This woman is so mature, but it does look like hers eyes. I really can't be sure.
