Cornbread...He poisoned himself in 183 B.C. to avoid capture by the Romans in what is now Libya.

Ooops...wrong Hannibal.

Hi Cornbread,

The Mighty Hannibal is apparently doing well. Norton released a CD with him some time ago:

I don't have this one, only a 1970's album on Aware ("Truth" is the title, I think, but I have to check when I get home). It's got "Hymn No. 5" and other 'righteous' tunes.

He also recorded a CD recently:

And finally, he did a gig with the other Norton stars in N.Y.C. in Dec. 2003, a very good one according to listers from another list I'm on.

'NORTON RECORDS SOUL SHAKE SPECTACULAR'
Norton loves its r&b obscurities, and it has dug up a bunch of ace old-timers for this revue: King Coleman (the DJ who hollered on "[Do the] Mashed Potatoes" in 1959), sleazemaster Andre Williams (of "Jail Bait" infamy), Nathaniel Mayer (what, you don't remember "Village of Love"? No. 22 in 1962!), Gino Washington, and the Mighty Hannibal. And the MC is Rudy Ray "Dolemite" Moore. WOLK

At 7:30, Southpaw, 125 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, 718.230.0236
