Any Tata Vega fans in the house? Her Motown solo work was exceptional...

Whatever happened to Mark Hofstein, the "brainchild" so to speak of the Natural Resources band Earthquire, of which Tata was the front woman?

I LOVE Tata. Do you remember "Come in Heaven, earth is calling"?

She is one whom you can really feel the emotion, even in her recordings. Check out "Now I see" her gospel CD.

Loved "Now I See"...

"Come in Heaven" is the best of both worlds...a gospelly, heartfelt ballad and THEN the throwdown of all funk jams..."all the world around me...in such a state of fuss..."

I Need You Now ... is the main song for me by Tata. She's good friends with Kim Weston these days!!

Tata Vega was great. All three of her Motown albums were great. My favorites are "Full Speed Ahead" from her first tamla album and "Give It Up For Love" from her third tamla release.

She did a gospel album for Qwest Records. That one was good, too.

Spooksey--I couldn't agree more..."I Need You Now" has such a great vibe...I also love the "Whopper Bopper Show Stopper"!

I first got into her when she was the lead singer for the group Pollution. They recorded two albums and Tata sings her face off on songs like "Mother Earth" & "Fool Hearted Woman", talk about some blues.

Motown released four Tata Vega albums all together so they need to compile a collection of her best work for CD release.

Brother Love--

The Pollution and Earthquire albums are so incredible..."Mother Earth" has got to be one of the rawest vocals ever committed to vinyl!
